Nilufer is an artist who loves to share the joy of art as a teacher.
Having completed her double Diploma in Applied Art and Textile Design from Sophia Polytechnic respectively, she began her journey as an artist by commissioning stained glass paintings and murals for the Unit Trust of India, State Bank of India and the National Stock Exchange, Mumbai.
As her artistic horizons broadened, Nilufer started designing and creating hand painted and tie-dye textiles for James Ferreira, and simultaneously teaching fashion and design at Sophia Polytechnic and Sasmira, Mumbai. She has conducted workshops at the M.S. University, Vadodara and Symbiosis Institute of Design, Pune.
Having got the good opportunity of teaching varied age groups of children to college students, Nilufer likes to incorporate her experience as both an artist and teacher to create unconventional, liberal art methods and techniques to bring out the best in a child.
Her teaching philosophy is simple- to bring out the best in a child.
Nilufer loves the fact that art is generous and has no right or wrong. Her goal is to help build self-confidence in a child, resulting in her best moment: when a child says “I can.”
Her other areas of interest are music, reading, writing, trying varied cuisines, and bonding with her students.
